In this supporting position, you will help the Food Safety Manager carry out daily food safety tasks to guarantee adherence to all applicable laws and guidelines. The company’s food safety culture and certification criteria are upheld by the Food Safety Specialist’s constant daily audit execution, accurate documentation, and support programs.

Qualifications and Eligibility Criteria 

  • Strongly desirable if bilingual in Spanish and able to interact well in a variety of teams and training environments.
  • A thorough understanding of PrimusGFS standards, food safety legislation, and other relevant food safety standards.
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
  • The capacity to acquire and enhance computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and popular ERP software.
  • Excellent communication abilities both in writing and speaking; able to convey messages about food safety at all organizational levels.

  • Collaborative, team-focused, service-oriented, and capable of influencing and promoting safe work practices.
  • the capacity to operate from a computer while sitting for long periods of time.
  • Packing facilities, processing floors, and outdoor field locations are examples of dynamic situations where workers must be able to operate in cold, damp, and humid circumstances.
  • Throughout the workplace, one must frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, reach, and squat—often while negotiating slick or uneven terrain.
  • The ability to regularly lift, transport, and move objects and equipment up to 50 pounds safely while utilizing appropriate ergonomic procedures.
  • The ability and willingness to work long hours, including on weekends and holidays, especially during periods of high production and harvest.
  • The capacity to see clearly, concentrate on specific tasks like using a computer or entering data, and accurately and consistently perform repetitive hand movements.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily GMP audits of the facility’s floor and surrounding areas (fruit, workers, machinery, equipment, supplies, bins, trash, etc.).
  • Help gather swabs and samples for the monthly monitoring as part of the Environmental Monitoring Program.
  • Upload test results and swab data into the database.
  • To find possible problems, graph trends from testing data.
  • Notify the Food Safety Manager right away if you have any concerns about food safety.
  • Examine food safety and sanitation records.
  • Scan and submit finished, validated documents.
  • Serve as the Food Safety Manager’s primary backup for all food safety training subjects.
  • Help with sign-offs and verification checks.
  • Keep track of staff training records and assist in setting up refresher courses.
  • Keep track of all areas’ chemical inventories (janitorial, chemical storage, maintenance shop, and processing).

  • Assist in examining reports and trends related to pest control.
  • Manage important documentation, filing, and recordkeeping duties.
  • Assist the Food Safety Manager with requests for traceability and mock recalls.
  • As needed, carry out additional tasks to assist the Food Safety Manager and enhance Cobblestone’s overall operations.
