Job Description 

Technical Multimedia Design Inc (TechMDinc) Is Hiring an Associate CAD Designer (Revit) | Burbank (CA), USA @techmdinc.com

You will answer to the Senior CAD Designer as an Associate CAD Designer and be responsible for helping CAD Designers with Revit design and documentation for projects that are allocated to you. You will collaborate with CAD team members to help translate AVCL design concepts and specifications into precise Revit drawing packages while following business CAD procedures and standards. Location plans and RCPs, sections, elevations, and equipment detail drawings are all included in AVCL technical packages.

You will have access to workspaces at our Burbank, California location for the Associate, CAD Designer position, which is predominantly an in-office role. Depending on the demands of the job, opportunities for work from home and/or hybrid work may become accessible after the first six months of employment.

Qualifications and Eligibility Criteria 

  • Two or more years of experience with architectural drafting and 3D modeling.
  • Two or more years of experience with CAD software, such as Revit (2020 and later), AutoCAD, and ACC/BIM
  • Proficiency in communication to work with interdisciplinary teams
    meticulous and focused on quality
  • Capacity to operate both independently and collaboratively in a hectic setting

Physical Conditions:

  • Capacity to sometimes move around the space, including bending over or crouching to reach AV equipment.
  • Capacity to load equipment onto vehicles by lifting it up to 25–50 pounds to a height of 3–4 feet.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Familiarity with SketchUp and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Knowledge of scripting, LISP routine creation, and CAD database integrations.
  • Experience creating architectural and construction drawing sets for themed entertainment or a similar sector.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Create technical drawing packages in Revit/AutoCAD by collaborating with internal CAD designers.
  • Make and edit 3D Revit families using the given parameters.
  • Make sure that designs follow industry laws and regulations in addition to company standards.
  • Keep project CAD documentation well-organized across many platforms.
  • Help with design evaluations and offer helpful criticism and ideas for enhancements.
  • Drawing package contents should be reconciled with associated equipment lists and/or bill of materials papers.
  • Assist in the co-management of internal databases, inventory, and CAD libraries (ACC, Box, GitHub)
  • Make and edit 2D AutoCAD dynamic blocks with the desired features
  • Internal team members receive training in Revit and AutoCAD as well as troubleshooting assistance.
  • Carry out other duties as specified by the TechMDinc Design & Engineering Teams
  • Oversee project schedules and deliverables, monitoring development, spotting bottlenecks, and informing clients and internal stakeholders of developments.
  • Additional Duties: Participate in CAD R&D to create effective systems and procedures.
  • Help with CAD software training for new hires Attend weekly CAD and design meetings.
