DPR Construction Is Hiring Sr. Estimator In California, United States @ dpr.com

A senior estimator with at least eight years of expertise in commercial construction is needed by DPR Construction. In our primary markets—healthcare, advanced technology, higher education, life sciences, and corporate offices—estimators will mostly work on negotiated commercial projects. The following abilities are necessary for senior estimators, who will collaborate extensively with architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors:

managing the project from the initial estimate to the formalization of subcontracts.
The ability to ask the correct questions, dig beyond the facts provided, and work toward providing a comprehensive project cost appraisal.
Throughout the process, we must empower and inform our clients as a cooperative and enthusiastic advocate.

Qualifications and Eligibility Criteria

We are seeking a versatile, meticulous team player that can handle several projects, generate high-caliber work, and reliably fulfill deadlines. The chosen applicant will have:
Outstanding communication and listening abilities.
New and creative methods and solutions for each assignment separately.
The capacity to recognize, adjust to, and address complicated problems.
Effective engagement with teammates, both internal and external, in a team setting.
Strong computer abilities in the Microsoft Office Suite, project management software (CMiC or similar), scheduling software (Primavera or similar), estimating software (WinEst, Timberline or similar), take-off software (On-Screen Takeoff or similar), and BIM tools (Revit, Assemble, etc.).
8+ years of expertise as a commercial estimator, ideally in one of DPR’s primary markets.
Although not necessary, a bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Role and Responsibilities:

When complicated problems including cost, lead times, trading partners, and/or certain items or materials come up, one must be quick to come up with creative solutions.
The capacity to comfortably estimate across all work scopes and create accurate cost estimates.
Experience creating comprehensive conceptual cost estimates and conceptual cost studies from feasibility-level or schematic documents is required.
The ability to create thorough estimates and, as the design changes, create summaries of the differences between estimates and value engineering studies.
Capacity to compile a comprehensive estimate package that effectively conveys project cost and is suitable for presentations.
To determine the required workforce and project requirements, the project team must be able to work together.
Unit costs and the variables influencing building costs must be understood.
The ability to recognize important insurance and damages clauses and familiarity with examining building contracts are prerequisites.
Able to guide, oversee, and inspire project teams during a project’s preconstruction stage.
