Based in San Diego, California, or South San Francisco, California, we are looking for a Senior Software QA Engineer with a great deal of expertise and a collaborative approach to join our team in an onsite or hybrid role. This crucial position entails overseeing software application testing for Veracyte’s laboratory operations and diagnostic development. The ideal applicant will be well-versed in laboratory workflows, enterprise computerized systems, and scientific data management in controlled settings like molecular biology or genomics labs.

In order to guarantee the integrity, compliance, and quality of our software systems, it will be your duty as a Senior Software QA Engineer to translate intricate technical requirements into scalable, risk-based testing methodologies. The results of scientific study, lab productivity, and eventually patient care will all be directly impacted by your efforts.

Qualifications and Eligibility Criteria

Computer science, bioinformatics, life sciences, or a similar discipline at the bachelor’s or master’s degree level.
5+ years of experience in LIMS testing, preferably with Labbit LIMS or equivalent
Thorough knowledge of laboratory procedures, particularly in settings related to clinical research, molecular biology, or genomics.
Demonstrated ability to convert technical specifications into efficient testing plans.
Strong familiarity with GAMP5 risk-based computer system validation techniques.
Knowledge of data integrity frameworks and regulatory requirements including GxP, GLP, GCP, and CLIA.
Familiarity with user roles, validation documents, and LIMS settings.
Outstanding critical thinking, troubleshooting, and analytical abilities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, as well as the capacity to facilitate discussions across functional boundaries.
In overseeing intricate projects with several stakeholders, with precise deadlines and deliverables.
Knowledge of Agile techniques and tools, including Confluence and Jira.

Roles and Responsibilities

Act as the main point of contact for QA and testing tasks pertaining to lab systems and software releases.
Create, carry out, and maintain thorough test cases, scripts, plans, and reports using both automated and manual testing methodologies.
Determine, examine, and fix the underlying causes of software problems to guarantee high-caliber outputs.
In order to organize testing activities, serve as a liaison between internal technical teams and outside software providers.
Prioritize and oversee testing projects to guarantee on-time delivery without sacrificing compliance or quality.
Continue to assess and enhance testing methods, taking use of automation options to boost productivity.
Verify that all testing procedures adhere to legal requirements and data integrity specifications for LIMS workflows and associated systems.
Support system updates, user acceptability testing, and validation documentation by working with cross-functional teams.
