A User Experience Researcher is needed to join the Research & Insights team at Splunk!
Your capacity to find, rank, and finish important research will support cross-functional teams in making well-informed choices that will shape Splunk products going forward. In addition to using quantitative data sets (if applicable), the research will employ a variety of methodologies, such as foundational, generative, and evaluative research. You are respected and trusted for your ability to comprehend the limitations of the cross-functional team and modify the study as necessary to meet the objectives. Your partners will include your study into the roadmap for the product with your help.
You have a clear idea of what research a cross-functional team needs, and you stick to it while you collaborate with your partners to establish alignment and consensus. You help non-user researchers better understand and engage with user demands and how to best meet them through your work and collaborative process. We seek thinkers and innovators who are driven by coming up with original solutions to challenging issues and who aren’t afraid to question the status quo.
Qualifications and Eligibility Criteria
- 4+ years of experience conducting user research, either qualitatively or quantitatively.
- Extensive background in organizing and carrying out various research and usability testing projects.
- Degree in usability engineering, human factors, HCI, or a similar discipline (advanced degree a plus).
- Strong sense of autonomy, responsibility, and initiative, as well as the capacity to manage what needs to be done, how it should be done, and when it should be completed.
- Excellent organizational abilities and the capacity to oversee several projects in a fast-paced company.
- Outstanding communication skills, both in writing and speaking. strong presenting and analytical abilities.
- A thorough awareness of the advantages and disadvantages of various research techniques, as well as when and how to use them at each stage of the product development process.
- Proficiency in interpersonal communication, negotiation, and teamwork.
- Uncertainty does not scare them, and they are open to learning new things.
- The capacity to act fast and make wise choices under unforeseen circumstances.
- Skewed toward action.
- Desired has proven to be successful in carrying out AI research.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Encourage data-driven product design and UX research for AI.
- Manage research study administration, design, and implementation with little direction.
- At different phases of the product development lifecycle, propose, organize, carry out, and present user research.
- In order to accomplish business and design objectives, manage collaborators by facilitating partner discussions using the proper user research techniques.
- Collaborate in research execution and/or design workshops with managers and other members of the UX team.
- Know when to rely on secondary research and be very skilled in primary research techniques, including maintaining datasets, conducting user interviews, conducting lab tests, and synthesizing previous research.
- As required by the project team, produce deliverables in the form of interesting reports or other materials.
- To build a more intelligent, knowledgeable, and compassionate team, share research findings with cross-functional partners.
- Not hesitant to develop new procedures and systems when necessary.
- By collaborating with Research Operations to optimize best practices and procedures for the company, you may advance the research and insights practice.
- Managing participant recruiting, data collecting (including session moderating), data synthesis and analysis, and delivering findings and suggestions are all part of this very involved function.

In addition to a day off for their birthday, employees are entitled to up to twelve paid holidays every calendar year, including one floating holiday for non-exempt workers. At a rate of 4.92 hours each pay period, non-exempt new recruits can accrue up to 16 days of vacation time annually.
Exempt new hires take use of Cisco’s flexible vacation time off policy, which is subject to availability and some business constraints but does not set a set cap on the amount of vacation time that qualified employees may spend. According to Cisco’s sick leave policy, all new hires are entitled to eighty (80) hours of sick leave, which will be paid on the date of hiring and on January 1st of each year after that. The maximum amount of sick time that an employee can have available is 160 hours, with up to 80 hours of unused sick time being carried over from one calendar year to the next.
