Software and systems development are combined in Site Reliability Development to create and manage large-scale, widely dispersed, fault-tolerant systems. Site Reliability Developers will also continuously monitor the functionality and capacity of our systems. With your skills in coding, algorithms, complexity analysis, and large-scale system design, you will be able to handle the intricate problems of scale that are specific to Google as a member of the Site Reliability Development team.

Qualifications and Eligibility Criteria

A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a similar discipline, or comparable real-world experience.
Five years of expertise using one or more programming languages to develop software.
Five years of algorithmic or data structure experience.
Three years of expertise in large-scale distributed system design, analysis, and troubleshooting.
Two years of project management and technical leadership expertise.
A master’s degree in engineering or computer science.

Role and Responsibilities:

Participate in and enhance the whole service lifecycle, from conception and design to implementation, operation, and improvement.
Before going live, support services are provided through tasks including capacity planning, software platform and framework development, system design advice, and launch reviews.
After a service goes live, keep an eye on its availability, latency, and general system health.
Develop systems by advocating for modifications that increase dependability and speed, then scale them sustainably using tools like automation.
Practice blameless postmortems and sustainable incident response.
