The EnergyPoints Phase II SBIR clinical trial’s data systems integration, quality control, and upkeep will be supervised by the data manager. The Data Manager will make sure that data flows accurately and promptly between REDCap Cloud, the EnergyPoints app backend (MySQL), and reporting systems while collaborating closely with the Principal Investigators, Statistician, Statistical Consultant, and larger research team. Supporting clean, analyzable data for internal decision-making, trial progress tracking, NIH reporting, and eventual publishing depends on this function.

A Phase II NIH/NCI Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) award is used to pay for this employment. The position is remote and scheduled for about 400 hours a year, or 8–10 hours per week. The study phase and data requirements may affect the number of hours.

Rolling start date, with preference for instant availability
Duration: Until the conclusion of the award period, which is expected to last 22 months, with the possibility of an extension contingent on performance and funding

Qualifications and Eligibility Criteria

A bachelor’s degree in analytics, data science, computer science, health informatics, or a similar discipline is necessary
A master’s degree is preferred.
Familiarity with data management, ideally in a digital health or research context
Experience of at least two years is preferred.
Proven expertise in database systems, such as REDCap and MySQL
Proficiency in data cleaning, reporting, and quality assurance
Capacity to safely handle data in accordance with NIH and HIPAA regulations
It is highly recommended to have experience with statistical programming or querying tools (such as R, Python, SQL, and SAS).
Excellent teamwork and communication abilities for collaborating with interdisciplinary teams

Roles and Responsibilities

Help with REDCap Cloud’s setup and configuration for gathering data from clinical trials, Control and keep an eye on the data flow between MySQL databases, REDCap, and the EnergyPoints app.
Diagnose and resolve technical problems with data gathering, synchronization, and system integration
Act as a REDCap point of contact for any technical concerns.
Work together with the Statistics Team to prepare datasets for analysis by exporting, transforming, and cleaning them.
Create frequent data reports for the Data Safety and Monitoring Committee as well as for team reviews and quality assurance.
Standard operating procedures (SOPs) and data structures should be documented for transparency and reproducibility.
Get de-identified datasets ready to be safely submitted to the appropriate NIH data repository.
