For the purpose of supporting our data initiatives in the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance sector, we are looking for a technically skilled and meticulous data analyst with at least three years of experience. Understanding and improving data systems for reporting, claims, underwriting, finance and accounting, and policy tasks will be the main responsibilities of this position. In order to support business intelligence, regulatory reporting, and strategic decision-making, you will evaluate intricate insurance data structures, create schemas, carry out exhaustive data validation, and enable high-quality data flows.

Qualifications and Eligibility Criteria

Solid knowledge of P&C insurance data structures, including risk rating, policy lifecycle, coverages, claims, and premiums
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, business administration, finance, accounting, or economics.
More than two years of expertise in the P&C insurance sector.
3+ years of experience in data analysis.
Master’s degree in business administration, statistics, finance, accounting, economics, computer science, or engineering.
Three or more years of experience in the P&C insurance sector.
4+ years of experience in data analysis.
Ability to query, manipulate, and validate insurance data using SQL
Familiarity with data modeling principles and techniques (such as the star and snowflake schemas)
Knowledge of insurance systems (such as legacy PAS or Guidewire) is a big benefit.
Practical knowledge of data testing techniques and instruments to confirm data integrity in various contexts
Familiarity with BI/reporting software such as Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI
Excellent critical thinking and analysis abilities to convert complicated facts into useful insights
Familiarity with data pipelines, ETL tools, or scripting languages (such as Alteryx or Python)
Knowledge of insurance audit standards, regulatory compliance, and data governance
Outstanding documentation and communication abilities to facilitate cooperation between tech and business teams

Roles and Responsibilities

Examine and improve data systems pertaining to rating, underwriting, policy administration, claims processing, and client information.
Work together with the reporting, underwriting, and actuarial teams to specify and record the data requirements.
Create and oversee physical and logical data models specifically suited for P&C insurance operations.
Accuracy and consistency are ensured by mapping and converting raw insurance data into formats that are ready for reporting.
Encourage the creation of ETL procedures for importing, cleaning, converting, and verifying insurance data.
During the development of ETL and reporting, define and carry out data validation, reconciliation, and consistency checks.
Develop and oversee test cases and test strategies to verify data across the staging, data warehouse, and reporting layers.
Work together with QA and business users to confirm the completeness, correctness, and usability of data for analytics and reporting.
Verify adherence to state-specific laws, NAIC, ISO, and other insurance data standards.
Create scalable and reliable reporting data layers.
Keep an eye on data quality and work with IT to proactively address problems with data integrity.
Help with the onboarding of additional data sources, including weather risk feeds, third-party inspection data, and external property data.
